Visual Literacy
Visual literacy describes the ability to write, read, or create visual images. This was the main topic for this weeks reading. A topic all about the in-depth analysis of photography, paintings, ads, and documentaries. How it was all managed and planned out to portray specific messages to its audience. A tool that is often overlooked at in society but is such a powerful one due to its ability to sway peoples opinions. Moreover, looking much deeper into this topic, I began to understand better what the thought process was for these people. How certain line weight will add effect, colors symbolizing emotions, and items that people relate to that help aid the media in a greater power. And the countless test and ideas one concept goes through to become something like an ad or opening the eyes of its audience to look at the bigger picture of issues.
